James She

Dr, James She is a Visiting Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute – AIRI@UTCN, where he will engage with the AIRI@UTCN research community and contribute to academic exchange through the AIRI@UTCN Invited Lectures series.

Dr. James She is a university professor and media artist, serving as tenured Associate Professor of Computational Media and Art at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), with a joint appointment at HKUST in Hong Kong. His work brings together AI, multimedia computing, immersive technologies and IoT to create artistic and cultural experiences across heritage, education, media and related fields. He is Associate Editor of Leonardo (MIT Press) and has previously served in editorial roles for IEEE TMM and ACM TOMM. His research and creative work have been presented at major international venues including ACM Multimedia, SIGGRAPH/Asia, ISEA, the Islamic Arts Biennale and Ars Electronica. His artworks have been exhibited internationally, and his practice has a particular focus on the intersection of AI, art and cultural heritage.
